The gum-chewing, speed-loving tough girl of the group is
Go Go Tomago (voiced by
Jamie Chung), whose sarcasm flows almost as quickly as her maglev wheels. In the original Marvel comics, upon which
Disney's "Big Hero 6" is loosely based, Go Go's real name is Leiko Tanaka, an extremely talented member of a thug motorcycle gang. Her nickname, Go Go Tomago, is an allusion to her need for speed–the "go go" part–and reference to the round parts of her suit as well as the blurry shape she becomes at her suit's high speeds; "t
omago" being a misspell of "t
amago", the Japanese word for egg (the repetition of Os is allusion in itself).
Go Go Tomago's Marinated Eggs
(Based on a recipe by Just Bento)
3 Hardboiled Eggs, peeled (
cooking & peeling tips here)
Miso Eggs
2 heaping Tbsp. Miso Paste (I used shiro/white)
2 tsp. Honey or Maple Syrup
Soy Sauce Eggs
2 Tbsp. Soy Sauce
2 tsp. Honey or Maple Syrup
Important Items:
Plastic Sandwich Bag
Directions:
1. Once the hardboiled eggs are peeled, gently pat them dry with a paper towel. Combine the ingredients for
either the miso eggs or the soy sauce eggs in the sandwich bag, squishing around to mix well, & then plop in the eggs. Close the baggie, getting out all of the air you can, & gently move the eggs around inside the bag until they are coated with the mixture. Put the bag in the fridge for several hours, up to 24 (or more for the soy sauce eggs), moving the eggs around in the bag every so often so that all surfaces of the eggs have contact with the mixture. Once the eggs have marinated & changed color, at least slightly, remove them from bag (wiping the miso off if that's the kind you made), & eat as a side, in a bento, in ramen, or in a salad.
