This might be the BEST SITE EVER! I just stumbled onto it, my brothers and I are always trying to amp up a show with food inspired by the show. You should check out Kenshin, an anime. Also, there is a lamb stew that Katniss loves to eat in Hunger games. And ...gosh, the list could go on forever!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Glad you found it! I did watch a bunch of Kenshin (Rurouni Kenshin I'm assuming you mean) years and years ago, but need to finish it. I enjoyed it a lot. And yes, there is SO MUCH FOOD in The Hunger Games! It's glorious. I'm sure I'll do more food for the series at some point. Thanks again for visiting the site!
DeleteHave you ever thought of adding homestuck to your repertoire of recipes?
ReplyDeleteI started reading it a while ago but didn't get too far. I'll have to look into it again. Is there a particular food I should keep my eye out for?
DeleteCan you please cook something from Daughter of Smoke and Bone (an amazing novel) or maybe from The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making (I can not recommend this enough)?
ReplyDeleteExcellent suggestions! Stay tuned!
DeleteCould you make something from the Throne of Glass series? My sister and I would love that.
ReplyDeleteGreat suggestion. I've been meaning to read that series!
DeleteReally cool site. I was super excited to see the Sookie Stackhouse recipes but then saw they were based on the show not the books. There are some awesome dishes in the books I would love to have seen. Mrs Bellefleur's Famous Chocolate Cake and Sookie's Grandmother Adele's Sweet Tea to name a few. Please please do it. I loved the books and the tv show kinda sucked (but not in a good way)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting, Linden! I haven't read the Sookie Stackhouse books; I pretty much stick to youth books like YA or middle-grade because that's what I like. But I thought I'd try out the show, and I enjoyed parts of it, but I can definitely believe that the books were better, that's usually how it is :). I probably won't read the whole series, but I might delve into portions at some point to discover some of the food. Thanks for the suggestion! A famous chocolate cake sounds scrumptious.
DeletePLEASE! Make more a series of unfortunate events stuff like (the coconut cake the cucumber soup etc) ALSO more maze runner things please!!! <3
ReplyDeleteYeah! The cucumber soup has always stuck with me, I do plan on making it!
DeleteHey,
ReplyDeleteHave you ever done the chicken from the "Absolutely True Part-Time Diaries of an American Indian", it's such a great YA book. I know it's not very fantasy-related, but it is very good and very well written realistic fiction with great humor and characters (The book is both serious and funny at the same time). It's about a modern-day kid who is growing up on a reservation and then goes to an all-white school, I know, sounds kind of cliche, but it's really well written and good.
Could you do Percy Jackson Food? There is sooooo much. Blue Cookies. Seven Layer dip. Ambrosia and Nectar.
ReplyDeleteHi Diana,
ReplyDeleteI was wondering, have you ever heard of that YA book "Ballads of Suburbia"? It is a contemporary (no fantasy) and it is quite dark, but it is very well written...Also, it is set during the 1990's and has a lot of food in it. I hope you take the reccomendation to heart.
From,
Flannery
Hello!!
ReplyDeleteCould you maybe make something from the book Breadcrumbs! It is a personal favorite of mine, and its a simply wonderful read! :-)
You should make something from mrs peregrine's
ReplyDeleteI second Percy Jackson. The books not the movies. Thank you for making this site! It's incredible! I can't tell you how much I love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
